Souper Suppers are Back!!
They will
begin at 6 pm, followed by the Council meeting at 7 pm.
Everyone is welcome to attend and share in the wonderful soups that
are available. You may stay for the Council meeting that follows.
Council meetings are open to all members who wish to attend.

April 1
- Begin counting the minutes and hours and ways you
practice green actions. The following is a partial list of green actions
you can focus on each week for the 50 great days leading to Pentecost
Sunday. Please add your own green actions and share them with the
congregation.
April 7 - 1 Turn down thermostat.
April 14
- 1.Turn off lights in unused rooms.
Earth Day April 21
- 1. Read article about the environment
Arbor Day April 28
- 1. Purchase a tree for planting.
May 5
- 1. Donate used articles for resale.
May 12
- 1. Plant a vegetable or rain garden.
Pentecost May 19
- 1. Write or call an elected official on an issue you
feel strongly about.
2. Use a mulching blade on your lawn mower and save the landfills. 3. Use the paper recycling bin at the back of our church.
DRIVERS NEEDED:
Drivers are needed to provide rides to worship and various church
activities such as soup suppers and Women’s Fellowship.
Please leave your name in the church office if you are able to help
with this ministry OR if you need a ride.

CE Annual Spring Plant Sale!
Spring is
here and summer is getting closer and closer.
It’s time to
start thinking about your gardens.
CE will be
holding its
ANNUAL SPRING PLANT SALE again this year.
☼ Hanging baskets are $20 AND flats of flowers or vegetables are $15.
☼ Vouchers will be available to purchase at the end of
April from any
Christian Education Committee member.
☼ Vouchers can be redeemed at Kollman’s Greenhouse.
☼ They must be redeemed by May 31.

The CE committee is currently compiling a list of high school, college, post- secondary, and trade graduates for 2013. We like to recognize their achievements on Christian Education Sunday on June 9. Names of those individuals can be given to Lisa Mayer or Kathy Lessman.

Attention
Game Players of ALL Ages!! Join us on Friday, April 12 at 6:00 pm for our spring game night. We’ll start off the night with Hot dogs and other finger foods and will begin our play time around 7:00 pm. Fellowship committee will supply the hot dogs and drinks and will have a sign up sheet where people can let us know how many people will be coming and what type of finger food you will be bringing. We will setup the TV so anyone who wants to watch a favorite baseball movie, will have that available to them. I’ve been told we are hoping for a big Pinochle playing rematch from a couple of years ago. Bring your favorite game and join us for a fun evening!
Church Picnic
June 9, 2013
The
Church Picnic will be held on June 9 this year.
It will take place after worship.
There will be no coffee hour that day.
More information will be forthcoming, but reserve the date. Come on
out and join the fun. Games are also planned for the kids and music.
This will also be the culmination of our 190th Anniversary
Celebration. We hope to have
many people in the community joining us.

Church Wins an award for Architecture. The Twinsburg First Congregational United Church of Christ won the 1999 Architectural Heritage (Silver) Award. The purpose of this prestigious award is "to recognize publicly the efforts of Summit County residents to preserve the rich heritage of the architecture, landscapes, sites and built forms" Accepting this award for the Church was Jerry Corbett, president of the Twinsburg Historical Society, and Lea Bissell, secretary of the Twinsburg Historical Society.
The Church has also been listed for permanent reference in the Library of Congress for Historic or Architectural Interest. (Click on the document below to read it)
